Paytm’s parent company, One97 Communications, has announced the launch of its redesigned Paytm app, aimed at enhancing user payment experiences with an AI-first approach. The updated app offers a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive interface designed to simplify everyday transactions while providing deep insights through artificial intelligence.
According to the company, the revamped Paytm app introduces over 15 innovative new features to make payments smoother for users across India and for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in 12 countries. The focus is on enabling faster, more seamless transactions for millions of users.
One of the standout features of the new app is the Gold Coins reward program, a first-of-its-kind offering among UPI apps. With every UPI transaction—whether at merchants, online, or for bill payments—users earn Gold Coins that can be redeemed for real digital gold, encouraging financial savings while rewarding everyday payments.
To make transactions even quicker, Paytm has introduced new tools such as the Receive Money widget, which allows users to place their UPI QR code directly on their smartphone’s home screen for instant payments, without even opening the app. Similarly, the Scan & Pay widget enables instant access to the QR scanner in a single tap.
Additionally, users can now access Metro tickets directly from the home screen, displaying the QR code instantly without navigating through multiple menus—a particularly useful feature for commuters on the go.
The new Favourite Contacts feature allows users to pin frequently paid contacts for quick, repeat payments, while Payment Reminders help set alerts for recurring bills such as tuition fees or household expenses, reducing the risk of missed payments.
Paytm has also enhanced privacy with personalised, easy-to-remember UPI IDs, protecting users from sharing their mobile numbers during transactions.
Another innovative addition is the Magic Paste feature, which allows users to automatically fill in bank account and IFSC details directly from WhatsApp messages or their favourite contacts list—making the payment process faster and more effortless.
With the integration of artificial intelligence, the new Paytm app can now understand user payment patterns and instantly display balances from multiple linked bank accounts, eliminating the need for manual checking.
Through these advancements, Paytm aims to build India’s most consumer-centric mobile payments platform, combining simplicity, innovation, and rewards in a single app experience.
